Tintin Fellow
Michael Hallinger is a lifelong fan of Hergé's Tintin and has a large and dedicated following on Instagram with the username of “Tintinfellow”. Michael is a professional gardener with a perennial passion for sartorial style. He has been working in horticulture for 25 years, taking care of large private gardens in beautiful locations. Michael does not consider himself an influencer, just a chap who likes to take pictures of what he wears, though he is very grateful for the support and the feedback that he gets from his followers; they inspire him to keep being himself and expressing his style.
Born near Copenhagen to a Danish father and English mother, Michael moved to a small village in Hampshire in his mid-twenties and has lived there ever since. He retains an equal fondness for both countries, regularly returning to the land where he grew up. With no specific aspirations when he first moved to England, an open day at the local agricultural college (where he also met his wife) led to him pursuing horticulture, and he has never looked back.
You should never wear something because you think people might look at you in a strange way or think you're eccentric. If you see that necktie or a jumper and you think they will work well together, just put it together and wear it with confidence. And quite often, you will find that people will give you compliments.
Michael's interest in style started when he was a teenager. He was never one to follow the crowd, always wearing what he liked, not what the fashion of time dictated or what others expected him to wear. He enjoys mixing colors and textures, adding badges and pins, giving classic outfits a little twist, a glowing exemplar of the Peter Christian ethos. Michael does not see any contradiction between being practical and stylish – truly a man after our own heart.
Michael wears a gold Merino Wool V-neck and Button-Down Tattersall Shirt, along with the chocolate variant of our ever-popular Moleskin Pants, turned up with his inimitable style, showing off the colorful HJ Softop® Cotton Socks. Accenting the outfit, we have a navy Paisley Silk Cravat, topped off with a rural fashionista favorite - the brown Corduroy Bakerboy Cap.
